Osun Election: Davido accuses president Tinubu of ‘K!lling democracy’ over alleged withdrawal of security personnel

Amid the ongoing Osun State governorship election, Afrobeat singer Davido has accused President Bola Tinubu of undermining democracy after alleging that police and military personnel were being withdrawn from polling areas.

The singer made the allegation in a post on his X account on Saturday as voting continued across the state.

“Because we are winning. They want to withdraw the police and military! MR PRESIDENT TINUBU! UR KILLING DEMOCRACY,” Davido wrote.

The allegation comes amid heightened tension surrounding the election, with incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke seeking re-election against candidates from other political parties.

Davido, who is related to Adeleke, has been actively commenting on developments surrounding the election and urging voters to protect their votes.

However, it was not immediately clear which polling areas he was referring to in his claim about the withdrawal of security personnel.
